The second season of The Day of the Jackal deepens its dive into a world of espionage, shifting loyalties, and psychological reckoning. Eddie Redmayne returns as the elusive assassin known only as the Jackal — a man whose precision in executing missions is rivaled only by the growing chaos of his fractured personal life.
Picking up after the explosive Season 1 finale, the Jackal now finds himself battling on two fronts. One is painfully personal: the unraveling of his relationship with his estranged wife, Nuria (รrsula Corberรณ). The other is driven by vengeance, as he hunts down his former handler, Timothy Winthrop (Charles Dance), whose betrayal has left both operational and emotional scars.
Season 2 takes a more introspective turn, peeling back the Jackal’s emotional armor and exposing the toll of a life lived in constant shadow — a life where trust is fleeting, and redemption may be out of reach.
The returning cast includes Eleanor Matsuura as Zina Jansone, Chukwudi Iwuji as Osita Halcrow, Lia Williams as Isabel Kirby, Sule Rimi as Paul Pullman, and Florisa Kamara as Jasmine Pullman. Lashana Lynch’s character, Bianca, will not return, following the conclusion of her arc in Season 1.
Filming is scheduled to begin in early 2025, with a release expected in 2026, pending production timelines.
